Mayur Mody, Jay Parekh
As a first generation immigrant and health management professional, Mr. Mody has first hand experience of health disparities when language and cultural barriers hinder communication and access to health services. Thus, eliminating health disparity is both professional and personal passion for Mr. Mody.
Over the years, Mr. Mody has successfully worked with a number of community based agencies in Montgomery County and Baltimore County, MD. He has been instrumental in uniting culturally diverse community through community events focused on education, empowerment and enrichment of cultural diversity. His Professional background in health information has been the key to the implementation of various health literacy events including a number of health fairs for ethic minority groups. His strength lies in collaboration and partnership among all stakeholders. Drawing on his strength, Mr. Mody has been able to bring together the community of health practitioners and educators to impart the relevant information to adult consumer to help them make informed decisions. Mr. Mody's community health outreach has paved the way for his engagement in advocacy program development and policy.
Drawing on his own cultural heritage, years of acculturation and experience working with the ethnic minority, Mr. Mody is poised to address community's various need including health equity among the underserved community beyond the Asian community. So far, he has been the coordinator for several healthfairs and related events, including but not limited to National Council of Indian Association, Asian American Health Initiative, Affordable Care Act outreach and healthcare reforms.
He currently serves on the various committes including Standing Advisory Board for Montgomery Cares Committee, steering Committee of Asian American Health Initiative, National Council of Associations of India, India Cultural Coordination Committee, Gujarat Samaj of Washington DC, Global Organization of Indian Origin , Virginia Chapter, planning Committee, City of Gaithersburg and Latino American Health Initiative. He also serves as a Health fair commitee member at Siva Vishnu Temple, Lanhem MD, Guru Nanak Foundation of America, Silver Spring , MD, Gurudwara of Baltimore, Randallstown MD, Raza E Mustafa Islamic Center, Randallstown MD, Mr. Mody has received numerous honors and award for his community services including Maryland Governor's citation (2013), award from Holy Cross Hospital ,Georgetown University Hospital and Gurudwara Nanak Foundation of America.
Jaykant (Jay) Parekh
Jay Parekh is currently the President of KloudData Inc. Jay is responsible for providing direction and strategies to sustain and expand the company as well as involved in the day-to-day operations. KloudData is a Business and Information Technology Consulting Company with offices in Maryland and California. KloudData is a SBA certified Small Disadvantaged Business. KloudData provides services to private sector as well as Federal, State and Local government in the public sector.
With over 30 years of professional experience, Jay has been instrumental in the growth and operations of several companies with his ability to lead the marketing and business development efforts. He has successfully run the operations of companies including technical, legal, human resource and financial. Jay has managed multiple projects over the course of his career for small to Fortune 500 Clients with large teams of professionals.
Mr. Parekh holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park and a Bachelors of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India. He is a Board Certified Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland and Delaware. Mr. Parekh has been a Rotarian involved in community service projects through the Rotary Club of Columbia and has served on the Advisory Board of Howard Bank in Howard County, MD. He has been on the Advisory Board of the Center for Business and Technology of Howard County Economic Development Authority since late 2006. Jay also serves on the Board of Economic Development Authority or Howard County as one of the Directors.
